Kengo Yoshida is a Japanese musician, instrumentalist, plastic artist, and dome architecture researcher. Also known as the developer and godfather of "Pachika", living off the grid in a forest of Aso in Japan.

It's.. great because it gives me energy!
Right now I'm spending a year and a half camping at Gourd Market in Miyazaki Prefecture's Tsuno Town!
Soon I will move to Aso Forest, my home base.
Basically, I've been in isolation since last March.. trying to avoid meeting people.
So.. I can take my time and think about things in a simple way.
Twitter is great in such situation too.
It's a window.. where I can see what I want to see.. look for things.. and call out to people.
Wandering around, and I can go to all sorts of places.
And.. At some point, I tweet what I want.
And then.. one day someone shoots it in my place.
Sometimes it's even cash.. It made me so happy.
I'm going to say this just lightly here, but.. (I'm going to write another note for this.)
To say this in brief.. I'm about to explode💥 with my "THANK YOU" feelings.
This is a first for me.. So I'm going to write a note again.
I fled from Kanto to Kyushu after 3.11 and stayed 2 years getting the blues.
I came up with the idea of creating Gourd Market.. It's been 8 years now.
I've been thinking about the Gourd Market for a looong time
and about the key word "new economy".
When I think of "new economy".. It goes beyond the economy.
Cuz.. I've realized that I can't start without destroying the existing concepts.
Various things started to fall apart in my mind.
It's interesting and fun.. I got my energy back.
For example.. Getting what you need.. The concept of possession.. Equivalent exchange.. Gifts.. and so on and on, infinitely.
We think about food, clothing, and shelter in order to live.. In modern civilization, it is obvious that money💴💰 is all we need to have them.
So.. I thought. My intuition tells me that the natural environment is being destroyed at an ever-increasing rate.
The air, the water, the soil, it's all being polluted.
This makes it impossible.. for living things to survive.
The environment will be destroyed because we want money😞
Creating the gourd market is something I will continue as long as I live.
This means I found something to look forward to.
It's a collaborative work.
New things will come out of it!!
They'll come one thing after another.
Sometimes it's something that's been there before but.. Because it's born now
It's new.
"To think about everything again by myself".. That makes me feel good.
In my head it's like that now.
Like thinking with my own head about everything.
I think it's time for all of us to do that.
