I always need good ones for nomad work with:
- Air conditioning
- WiFi
- Power supply
I've been in Georgia for half a year and explored various cafes for work, and found some good ones for nomad workers :)
- My favorite cafes in Tbilisi
Let me introduce my favorite cafes in Tbilisi.Whether in the middle of the tourist center or in a residential area, there is cafes perfect for nomad work and relaxing as well.
Cool and relaxing cafe in the old town
There is a cafe chain called 'Entree' in Tbilisi.I often go to Entree located just off Liberty Square, which is the center of the old town.
They have not only coffee but various patisserie as well.
I always work alone, though there are many couples :(
Air conditioning, WiFi and some seats have power also, so it's very good for digital work.
American 5 lari, this latte 7 lari.
This stylish place with good air-condition makes it easy to get work done.
Sometimes the air conditio is too cold, so you might want to take your jacket with you if you're going to stay for a long time.
There are some tables and seats outside, so you might as well move there.
A swanky cafe in Rustaveli
I think the best cafe in Tbilisi, a bit out of the old city, is Stamba Cafe in the hotel of the same name. The inside of this cafe is very stylish and has air conditioning and WiFi.
Power also available in some seats.
Swanky and spacious, but not too expensive.
4.72 lari for American, including tax and service charge.
Nice and on point that it comes with water too, which not many cafes do at this price.
On sunny days, the outside seating is so nice and I definitely recommend it!
In addition, the library in the hotel lobby is also very stylish.
Hmmm, I think this is my favorite cafe in Tbilisi!
I would go there more if it were closer.
Cafe at the famous Fabrika
There is a famous and fashionable hostel in Tbilisi. It's called "Fabrika" and has a stylish cafe with air-conditioning and a lot of people there who seem nomad workers.
So pop :)
And spacious and relaxing.
Coffee isn't expensive, 7 lari for a latte.
They also serve burgers and other foods, and Fabrika has food complex beside with a ramen shop so it's good place to eat as well.
Nomad cafe in Tbilisi's residential area
Skola, which recently moved from Rustavelli near the old town to Vake in the residential area, is also a typical cafe for nomads. The best thing here is that they have an official in charge of soothing during work!
Looks like this inside.
Stylish and perfect social distance.
I think cappuccino at 5 lari is pretty cheap!
Yes coffee is always a good idea :)
Vake is a bit hard to go by public transportation, but I highly recommend it to digital nomads living nearby.
- Cafes in the mall at Liberty Square
Liberty Square Metro station is located in the middle of the old town.
The station building is a shopping mall called Galleria and has relatively expensive shops in it.
But as for cafes, it's in the normal price range so I recommend this place as well.
Spacious Illy Cafe
One of good cafes in the mall is Illy's.The restaurant is spacious and pleasant.
American coffee is 5.78 lari including 18% VAT, which is not high for this mall.
The air conditioning and WiFi are good, but I just couldn't find a power supply here.
The clerk didn't say anything if I work for a long time, but the power is the only problem.
Ideal for nomadic work, Coffeesta
The mall has one of cafe chains in Tbilisi called Coffeesta. They have several chain shops in Tbilisi, but only let us use terrace seats because of the COVID virus, so you can't have air conditioning.
But Galleria is a mall, so it is air-conditioned off course.
WiFi is available and there are some seats with power.
American at 3.8 lari is the cheapest range except shops like McCafe.
Cappuccino is 4.5 lari.
This is the place I use the most for work because it's so cheap and has everything you need: air conditioning, WiFi, and power supply.
- Cafes with super fast WiFi in Tbilisi
The WiFi in Tbilisi cafes is usually just normal, but not so fast.
But in some cafes, it's pretty fast.
Fashionable little cafe with super fast wifi
PinPon cafe in my neighborhood is very nice and small and stylish. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary cafe in town.
But it's so nice and cozy inside.
The water in bottle is already stylish, and it's the first time I had basil and cucumber water.
Not cold water, but the cucumbers cooled my body, which was great for Georgia's pretty hot summer.
Air-conditioned, but the windows were open and it's so soothing.
Had fast WiFi and power supply for all the seats.
Also, the waitress had a great smile and their hospitality was wonderful, which is not so common in Georgia.
I worked very comfortably while drinking 6 lari cappuccino.
Cool Cafe in suburb
There is a cozy COFFEE LAB, in the suburban residential area of Saburtalo.Located in a park, looks very pleasant.
The cafe is stylish and air-conditioned, has fast WiFi.
You'll have power supply at some seats.
But the WiFi regularly (every 2 hours?) cuts off.
Latte is 8 lari, a little more expensive than other cafes.
But well, it's only $2.5, cheaper than Starbucks in Japan.
If you ever go to Saburtalo, go ahead and try it.
Restaurant you can use as a cafe
BERNARD Sushi is located on a street with trendy restaurants just off Liberty Square.Power supply lined up at the end seats are just for nomads!
The wall behind the seats is also good as no one can peek while working.
Coffee is 5 lari for an American plus 10% service charge.
The WiFi is super fast, and I appreciate the price of coffee for such an luxuary restaurant.
There's also a seat on the second floor, so you might be able to be more private and focus on your work.
Next time I visit, I want to try the seat at the second floor.
- Very cheap Cafes in Tbilisi
If you are looking for just cheap cafe, there are places that serve coffee for 2 lari~.
Yes, they are the Carrefour and McDonald's of the world ;)
Cafe at Carrefour
The cafeteria in Carrefour in Liberty Square is the cheapest cafe with air conditioning.American, latte and cappuccino are all 2 lari.
The price is achieved by the thorough rationalization so you help yourself and get coffee from vendor machine.
But they still have decent power supply at the seats.
But huge problem is the WiFi.
You have to use Carrefour's WiFi here, but I've never been able to (^_^;)
It's fatal for nomad workers so I don't use this cafe most of the time.
If you want to take a break and charge your phone at a cheap air-conditioned place, it's fine.
McDonald's has coffee and WiFi
The cheapest but usable place is Mac Cafe.I have nomad-worked at McDonald's at Marjanishvili, off course they had air-conditioning and WiFi worked normally.
American is 2.85 lari, not as cheap as Carrefour, but still about $1.
But I think it's a bit noisy with a lot of kids.
There's no power, so I'd rather pay another 30 cents and go to CoffeeSta.
There are a few McDonald's in Tbilisi, so it's a good place to take a break on the road.
So Tbilisi has all kinds of cafes like:
- Stylish and relaxing
- Good for nomad work
- Super cheap
So please choose the one that suits your needs best.
Let me know if you have any other good ones in mind :)
